Arda Newsletter - August Edition

Hi reader! In this edition of our newsletter, along with the latest news, exclusive offers, and expert tips, we’re thrilled to highlight the work of those who contribute to Arda Music Hub.

What's new at Arda Recorders?

Summer in Porto has been super hot, and we're keeping very busy in our studios.

Samuel Pankhurst (Tobias Jesso Jr, Hiatus Kaiyote) took over Studio A during the month of June to produce music for an upcoming artist. Guest musicians included Kirin J. Callinan (Mark Ronson, Caroline Polacheck, Weyes Blood) and Rory McCarthy (Mac DeMarco, Beck, Connan Mockasin), which made for some very interesting tracking sessions.

Basque composer Aitor Etxebarria (The Platform 2, Furia, Burning Body) was also in Studio A, putting our amazing Fazioli grand piano to good use!

More recently, Joao Brandao engineered the new Bruno Pernadas record and legendary producer Mario Barreiros recorded an amazing jazz album for Ricardo Coelho.

Studio B also saw some string action for an upcoming feature film and another Netflix original series. More to come in the near future!

What's new at Arda Suppliers?

Our friends at AEA Ribbon Microphones never stop innovating, and their latest creation is no exception: the AEA 1029, an ultra-clean stereo VCA compressor housed in a sleek half-rack chassis. Built around AEA’s proprietary discrete op-amp design, the 1029 offers everything from gentle dynamic control to precise brickwall limiting—with stunning transparency.

Whether you're smoothing out a vocal or tightening up a mix bus, the 1029 delivers the kind of clean, musical compression that must be heard to be believed.

We’re always proud to champion AEA’s work, and we’d love for you to get to know this powerful new addition. Take a closer look on our website - your next favorite compressor might just be waiting.

What's new at Arda Academy?

We’re thrilled to share some exciting updates from our community!

Last month, four of our former students were awarded the Arda Academy <> UPTEC Prize. This opportunity will allow them to join UPTEC’s incubation program, giving them access to strategic partnerships, expert mentoring, and the tools they need to refine their business models and bring their creative projects to life.

We’re also down to the last available spots for our Studio Engineering, Music Business and Electronic Music courses. If you’ve been thinking about applying, now is the time - applications close on August 29th. Don’t miss your chance to join a vibrant learning environment and take your skills to the next level.
